Israeli Army Has Ordered Palestinians To Get Out Of Gaza
Team leaders of the United Nations office for the coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Gaza were told on Thursday by their liaison officers in the Israeli Army that the entire population in northern Gaza should be evacuated to southern Gaza within 24 hours, according to Stephane Dujarric, representative of the UN Secretary General.
Reacting to the order, the United Nations said, "This is about 1.1 million people. The same order applied to all UN personnel and those taking refuge in UN facilities - including schools, health centers and clinics."
Furthermore the UN statement reads, "The United Nations considers it impossible to carry out such a movement without catastrophic humanitarian consequences. The United Nations strongly urges that any such order, be revoked, avoiding what could turn an already tragic situation into a catastrophic one."
Israel has sharply criticized UN's response calling it "a disgrace," saying it's a shame that the UN is "siding with Hamas, rather than standing with Israel.," and insists the order to evacuate stands.
