EPL: Arteta Chooses A Player Over Toney That He Wants Arsenal To Sign
| Arsenal Manager Mikel Arteta |
According to reports, Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, prefers to sign Pedro Neto, a winger for Wolves, above Ivan Toney, a striker for Brentford, during the January transfer window.
Arteta wants Neto to reduce the strain on Bukayo Saka in his team, according to FootballTransfers (h/t CaughtOffside).
Arsenal has a constrained transfer budget, and the report stated that the Portugal international is valued at £40 million.
While all is going on, Wolves estimates Neto's value at £70 million.
Since joining Wolves in 2019 from Serie A club Lazio, Neto has scored 12 goals and contributed 18 assists in 119 games.
The 23-year-old has one goal and five assists in eight games for Wolves this season.
Neto's Wolves contract will be up in the summer of 2027.
