Protests In Abuja Against Wike's Dismissal Of The UMTC Chief

Protests are currently taking place in Abuja over Nyesom Wike's decision to fire Najeed Abdulsalam as managing director of the Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company.


The company's employees are actively protesting the MD of the agency's dismissal.


The heads of the FCT agencies and parastatals were to be fired, according to FCT Minister Wike's instruction on Wednesday.


On Wednesday, Wike gave his approval for the immediate cancellation of the appointments of 21 heads of parastatals, agencies, and government-run businesses under the FCT Administration (FCTA).


His Director of Press, Office of the Minister, Anthony Ogunleye, said this in a statement.


Additionally, Wike instructed the affected appointees to turn over the management of their offices to the officers with the highest rank.
