President Tinubu Appoints New interim FIRS Executive Chairman

Hon. Zacch Adedeji has been chosen by President Bola Tinubu to serve as the Federal Inland Revenue Service's (FIRS) new acting executive chairman.

This was disclosed in a press release on Thursday, September 14, 2023 by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Advisor to the President on Media & Publicity.


"The President has directed the erstwhile FIRS Chairman, Mr Muhammad Nami, to proceed on 3 months of pre-retirement leave, as provisioned by Public Service Rule (PSR) 120243, with immediate effect, leading to his eventual retirement from service on December 8, 2023.


Hon. Zacch Adedeji is hereby appointed in an acting capacity for 90 days before his subsequent confirmation as the substantive Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service for a term of four (4) years in the first instance.


By these directives of the President, the new appointment takes immediate effect," the statement reads.
