Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike, popularly known by his stage name Phyno, is a Nigerian rapper and singer who has recalled receiving advice to join a cult or partake in rituals if he wanted to experience overnight fame.

While giving advice to aspiring musicians about finding shortcuts to success, Phyno reflected on his own journey and emphasized that hard work, determination, and resiliency were what got him this far.

"Before many people heard of Phyno, I'd had songs that no one knew existed.

"A couple of friends told me to blow, I must join a cult or sacrifice something or someone, I told them the price is too much. I'll never do such.

"I believed in myself and the power of hard work, I started little and today I thank God," he said.

Young artists should embrace the mentality of perseverance and hard effort, not desperation, according to Phyno.

The singer of "Alobam" advised them to "keep working, when the time is right, you'll shine."

He cautioned upcoming artists against taking recording deals out of desperation without carefully reviewing the terms, emphasizing that they would come to regret it.
