2024 WAFCON QUALIFIER: Sao Tome and Principe Withdraw From WAFCON Qualifier Against Super Falcons Of Nigeria
Sao Tome withdraws, and the Super Falcons move on to the second round
Sao Tome and Principe have dropped out of the competition for the 2024 Africa Women's Cup of Nations.
Later this month, Sao Tome and Principe was supposed to play the Super Falcons in a first-round qualifying match.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has previously been informed of the decision by the Sao Tome and Principe football authority.
Super Falcons, nine-time champions, have now qualified for the second round without kicking a ball.
The winner of the contest between Cape Verde and Liberia will play the Nigerian girls in the second round.
The competition's winner will represent their country at the Morocco-hosted WAFCON in 2024.
