Its An Insult To Beg FG To Free Me - Nnamadi Kanu
Nnamdi Kanu, the head of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a group that has been outlawed, claims that pleading with the federal government to let him free is unacceptable.
"There is no charge pending against Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu before any court as of today."
Furthermore, Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu made it clear that pleading with the federal government to free him now is a tribute to the late Pa Mbazulike Amaechi, who despite his advanced age and failing health frequently traveled to Abuja from the southeast to ask the federal government of Nigeria to carry out his last wish.
The federal government regarded the request with the utmost contempt and did not honor it.
Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is adamant that he does not need to implore the FGN to free him as a result.
The Court of Appeal has already rendered a ruling in this matter, and that ruling has been upheld to this day, according to the statement.
On April 8, 2022, Binta Nyako, a federal high court judge in Abuja, dismissed eight of the fifteen counts in the federal government's complaint against Kanu.
On October 13, 2022, the court of appeal later overturned the remaining seven counts.
After clearing Kanu of all terrorism-related charges, the court of appeals ordered a stay of execution on that decision on October 28, 2022.
