Why Osimhen Might Decline Chelsea's Offer As They Move Him Up The Blues' Priority List
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, may not accept the move to Chelsea this summer due to their inability to make the Champions League.
The lack of Champions League football is preventing the Blues from signing the Nigerian international frontman.
According to Sky Sports Germany's Florian Plettenberg, the Blues are interested in signing Osimhen, with the 24-year-old striker at the top of the list.
Since joining the Serie A champions from Lille, Osimhen has been on fire, scoring 28 goals in 37 games this season across all competitions.
The journalist from Germany tweeted, "Chelsea is still pushing! They want him as their new striker! He's top of the list. Understand there are price expectations of about €110m+ Boni at this stage."
Plettenberg clarified that Chelsea must first sell in order to make room in their budget for the Nigerian, noting that their failure to make the Champions League is another problem.
"But (CFC) has to sell players first and De Laurentiis wants more and at least €150m. Problematic for Chelsea: No Champions League next season."
