SUDAN CONFLICT: EGYPT IS ENRAGED BY THE UNAUTHORIZED ENTRY OF NIGERIANS
A setback may have resulted from some students' unruly behavior in the timely evacuation of Nigerians who had fled Sudan.
After examining passports or Emergency Travel Certificates (ETCs), the authorities sent hundreds of students back to the war-torn nation on Friday.
Two students attempted to skip airport security procedures, despite being told to wait while an ETC is being prepared for those lacking the required documentation.
An official from Nigeria reported in a voice message about the scenario that residents grew irritated, joined their colleagues forcibly, and then vanished.
The official stated that the attitude had "spoiled the efforts that the Federal Government is putting in place to airlift them."
The statement also mentioned that more than 500 Nigerians had been turned away. They must now obtain a permit to leave the country before obtaining a second permit to return to Egypt.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) have been alerted by renowned Twitter user @Woyel.
"2 students sneaked in to Egypt without traveling papers from Sudan. Egypt has decided to send back 700 Nigerians back to Sudan.
"FG will incur additional money to pay for buses again. The 2 students could be charged to court. Another one sneaked into Egypt, they are looking for the fellow," he tweeted.
