EPL: HOWE, THE NEWCASTLE MANAGER, ON THE SURPRISE ACQUISITION OF RONALDO AND NEYMAR

Eddie Howe, manager of Newcastle United, has downplayed any connections between Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Howe claims that the club will need to find future stars before they make headlines.

Since a Saudi-backed group completed their ownership in October 2021, the Magpies have been at the center of rumors about large-scale transfers.

Howe responded to a question from reporters on Friday regarding the prospect of some of the top players in the world ever playing for Newcastle: "We are never going to be in a position currently to afford those transfer fees and wages.

"So we need to go underneath and find them young and develop them into the players they can be."

In front of the upcoming season, Howe's team is almost certain to play in the Champions League.

With 65 points gained from 33 games, they are currently in third place.
