SERIE A: Osimhen's Shirts And Masks Sold Out In Record Speed
The "Face Game" shirts that were unveiled at Maradona and featuring the faces of Osimhen, Kvara, and Di Lorenzo have all been sold out in record time, according to II Napolista, the club newspaper for the freshly crowned Serie A winners Napoli.
Napoli ultimately ended their lengthy wait to win the Serie A, and once Osimhen was named the Italian champion, he joined late club legend Diego Maradona in the annals of sporting history. The 33-year wait was finally over for Napoli on Thursday after a 1-1 draw against Udinese, which sparked wild celebrations among the throngs of supporters in Udine, at the Stadio Maradona in Naples, and in other parts of southern Italy's largest city.
After Luciano Spalletti's team dominated the season, fans flocked to the Dacia Arena pitch to celebrate. According to Il Napolista, those fans have since bought the club's official celebratory T-shirt as well as the unofficial but wildly popular "Face Game" shirts that feature Osimhen's likeness.
Even on the well-known e-commerce platform Amazon, it appears that Osimhen's jerseys and supplies, including his face masks, are no longer in stock.
"And then there's merchandising. Official and unofficial. Everyone wants to take home something blue," the website wrote.
"Official retailers have been stormed, the celebratory T-shirt is sold out and even those who want to buy it on Amazon will have to wait until the end of May or in some cases June to receive it. The shirts presented during the Maradona party, the 'Face Game', are enjoying some success, so much so that those of Osimhen, Kvaratskhelia and Di Lorenzo are currently sold out."
