Obidients: Stop Apologizing Or You'll Kill Your Movement's 'libido' Shehu Sani Counsels Peter Obi
Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker and social critic, has counseled Peter Obi, the Labour Party, LP candidate for president in the election scheduled for February 25, to avoid making excuses for the behavior of his supporters.
Sani forewarned Obi that if he keeps criticizing or apologizing on their behalf, he risked killing what he called the "libido of his movement."
On Thursday, he posted a message using his verified Twitter account that included his remarks.
Asserting that his supporters—commonly referred to as "Obidients"—were not responsible for the insults hurled at notable Nigerians, Obi exonerated them, saying they were law-abiding individuals.
He criticized the development as well, saying it was unacceptable.
Sani, however, asserted that Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, and President Muhammadu Buhari never expressed regret for the actions or words of their supporters.
