GOV. UGWUANYI HAS PLACED A N5 MILLION BOUNTY ON THE KILLERS OF DONS UDEH (GRAPHICS)

Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has announced a N5 million cash reward for anyone or group who provides information to the Nigeria Police that leads to the arrest of those involved in the murder of Engr. Dons Udeh, former State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2023 general election.


Governor Ugwuanyi also approved the release of another N5 million, one million naira each, to the five communities in Ozalla, Nkanu West Local Government Area, from which the late Udeh hailed, to assist them in their separate and collective investigations into those responsible for their son's death.


Governor Ugwuanyi made the declaration during a visit to the Government House in Enugu on Wednesday by an Ozalla delegation led by the President General of the Ozalla Development Union, Barr. Charles Nwagbara, to seek justice. and request that the governor intervene further in the situation.


The Governor expressed serious concern over the situation and commiserated with the family of late Engr. Udeh and the entire Ozalla people, calling Udeh's death as painful and a significant loss not only to his family and community but also to the entire state.


As a result, Governor Ugwuanyi stated that the N5 million bounty will be distributed to the Nigeria Police, Enugu State Command, while the remaining N5 million will be distributed to the five communities in Ozalla.


The Governor stated that he had directed the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Ahmed Ammani, and the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department, DCP Fidelis Ogarabe, to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter in order to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice, emphasizing that he wants to get to the bottom of the matter in order to serve as a deterrent to others and to elevate the state's


Governor Ugwuanyi stated that Engr. Udeh's loss is more devastating to him and the state government than it is to his community, demonstrating his closeness to the dead and his great contribution to the state.


It was alleged that Udeh's body was discovered a few days after he was declared missing in the 9th Mile Area of the State.
