Manchester City's Erling Haaland smashed a long-standing Premier League record in their 3-0 win over West Ham on Wednesday night.

The first half had gone goalless at the Etihad.

Four minutes after the halftime, Nathan Ake headed home Riyad Mahrez's free kick to give the champions the lead.

Haaland scored in the 70th minute after running onto Jack Grealish's pass and lifting the ball past Lukasz Fabianski.

It was Haaland's 35th Premier League goal in his first season in England.

He has now surpassed Alan Shearer and Andy Cole, who held the 34-year-old record for many years.

With one outstanding game remaining, City has regained the lead with 79 points, one more than Arsenal.
