FG IS GIVEN A 14-DAY DEADLINE TO RELEASE NNAMDI KANU AND EVACUATE TROOPS BY PRO-BIAFRA PROTESTERS
Princewill Chimezie Richard, the leader of the Biafra Nations League, has given the Nigerian federal government 14 days to free Nnamdi Kanu.
The organization threatens to stop oil development along the maritime border between Nigeria and Cameroon.
The Nigerian government has also been given the same deadline to remove military personnel from the South-East zone.
They also urged Cameroonian officials, at a news conference in Calabar, "to desist from forcing and collecting proliferated taxes from Nigerians living in the Bakassi Peninsula."
Richard stated, "We want to use this medium to reiterate our decisions to close maritime borders starting on May 8, 2022, if our demands are not met."
He asserted that other groups were supporting BnL.
"We are able to accomplish anything. We are unable to reveal how much capacity we have.
"You should know that we command
massive loyalists and followers even amongst the natives. It will be disastrous if our demands are not met."
He urged President Muhammadu Buhari to cease being stubborn by disobeying court rulings and release Kanu before he turns himself in on May 29, 2023.
"We are disappointed and have lost confidence in Buhari's government.
"I can't say I have confidence in Bola Ahmed Tinubu who would be replacing Buhari. I don't even know him.
He urged President Muhammadu Buhari to quit defying the court and release Kanu before his surrender on May 29, 2023.
"Even if Kanu is released, it will not stop our agitation for Biafra sovereignty. We are demanding for safety and freedom from Nigeria. We have never believed in Nigeria.
"BnL is not alone in this struggle. There will be no negotiation about Biafra."
The group said that Nigerian authorities shouldn't compel them to enact legislation themselves.
