DANGOTE RELEASES A DATE FOR THE OPENING OF MANY BILLION-DOLLAR REFINERIES
The much-anticipated launch date for Dangote Group's refineries has been revealed.
The commissioning would take place on May 22, 2023, according to a letter.
Nigeria's ongoing refining problems are anticipated to be resolved by the multibillion dollar Oil Refinery and Petrochemical Company.
The opening date for several billion-dollar refineries is announced by Dangote.
This could support attempts by the federal government to make the nation independent in the local refining of crude oil in order to conserve the limited foreign currency needed in the importation of petroleum products.
The Dangote Refinery, the biggest single-train refinery in the world, will have a daily capacity of up to 650,000 barrels.
Pre-inauguration testing are now being conducted, according to reports that the refinery has been finished.
Approximately 2,635 hectares of land, or more than the size of Victoria Island in Lagos, make up the Dangote Refinery complex, which is situated in the Lekki Free Zone region of Lagos State.
Due to the refinery's high capacity, it has the greatest pipeline system in the whole world, with 1,100 kilometers to handle three billion Standard Cubic Feet (Scf/d) of gas.
According to reports, the refinery features a 435 MW power plant that can supply all of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company's (IBEDC) power needs.
