EPL: Pochettino Wants Chelsea To Sign A Target Of Arsenal
Mauricio Pochettino, the incoming manager of Chelsea, reportedly wants the team to recruit Declan Rice this summer from Arsenal.
Rice, a player for West Ham United at the moment, is still a target for Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United this summer.
The 24-year-old England World Cup hero is someone that Pochettino is eager to work with in the upcoming campaign.
The former PSG coach has already had numerous opportunity to talk about his goals for the forthcoming summer transfer window, particularly his wish to see midfielder Mason Mount given a new contract. He is expected to complete his contract at Stamford Bridge in the coming days.
Pochettino was informed of the long-standing interest the Chelsea board has had in Rice during those discussions, and the Argentine was eager to entice the midfielder to the west London club.
While they continue to press for N'Golo Kante's contract extension, Chelsea is looking to add a new midfielder to their lineup this summer.
Mateo Kovacic, Conor Gallagher, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek's futures, though, are in question, and it is understood that Pochettino's plan for the Stamford Bridge team includes upgrading in the middle.
