"He's classy, brilliant player..."

After the Blues' 3-1 Premier League victory over Bournemouth on Saturday, interim Chelsea manager Frank Lampard praised veteran defender Thiago Silva.

Conor Gallagher gave the Blues the advantage before Matias Vina gave the Cherries the lead back.

Benoit Badiashile and Joao Felix then each scored twice for West London, giving them their first three points under temporary manager Lampard.

Speaking about the Brazilian after the game, Lampard stated, "Thiago is a credit in all areas. The 38-year-old Silva was superb once again for the Blues. He is a refined, exceptional player.

His professional background speaks for itself. He is quite good at taking care of himself. I was in the MLS at the time, around 38. I comprehend it. playing in the Premier League, especially as a center-back.

"What he must be doing to his body. He's also got a really great mind and he has a winning mentality so he would have been suffering a bit recently because he feels it, he wears it. He's a great reference point for the young centre-backs we have in the team around him. Again, nothing but praise for Thiago in all aspects."
