EPL: KEVIN DE BRUYNE STATUS REPORT FROM GUARDIOLA PRIOR TO REAL MADRID MATCH
In advance of his team's Champions League semifinal first-leg matchup against Real Madrid on May 9, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed the most recent information on midfielder Kevin de Bruyne's condition.
De Bruyne is anticipated to be available against Real Madrid after Guardiola said he trained ahead of Man City's matchup with Leeds United on Saturday (May 6).
Due to a damaged foot, De Bruyne was unable to play in Man City's most recent matches against Fulham and West Ham United.
De Bruyne's absence from the match against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu has raised concerns.
However, Guardiola stated the following during his pregame press conference prior to the Leeds match: "He trained yesterday, trained good. Today we train, and we decide after training.
"Losing or missing just one week or ten days in this stage of the season is not a problem. The same happened with Nathan (Ake). If he's fit, he can play."
De Bruyne has been in excellent form for Man City this season, participating in 42 games across all competitions and contributing an astonishing 27 assists.
