Criminal Investigations Unit Receives Case Concerning Seun Kuti
On Monday, the Criminal Investigation Department Panti received a transfer request from the Lagos State Command of the Nigerian Police Force regarding the case of Afro beat musician Seun Kuti.
As promised by his attorney, Femi Falana, on Sunday, the artist turned himself in to the police, and our correspondent, who was at the state headquarters of the command that morning, was informed that the matter had been transferred to Panti.
Seun Kuti arrived at the police station early in the morning and was escorted there by a legal representative from Femi Falana SAN's office, according to Benjamin Hundeyin, the state spokesman for the police.
"He came this morning and he has been transferred to the State CID Panti." Hundeyin said.
The musician was caught on camera shoving a policeman on Saturday on the Third Mainland Bridge.
Inspector General of Police Usman Baba Alkali issued an arrest warrant for him.
