Peter Mbah NYSC Saga: Abuja Court Prevents NYSC From Disputing The Discharge Certificate

Peter Mbah

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and its Director of Corps Certification, Ibrahim Muhammad, to refrain from renouncing or disowning the NYSC certificate of national service given to the candidate for governor of Enugu State, Barrister Mbah Peter, for the time being.

Mbah won the Peoples Democratic PDP's ticket in the Enugu State governor's race on March 18.

As a candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mbah prevailed in the Enugu State governor's race on March 18.

The NYSC allegedly claimed in a letter signed by Ibrahim Muhammed that Mbah's NYSC certificate was not provided by the Corps in February.

The restraining order was nevertheless imposed by Justice Inyang Edem Ekwo on Monday in Abuja while making a decision on an ex parte motion filed by Emeka Ozoani on behalf of Mbah.

Mbah claims that the National duty Certificate with the number A.808297 dated January 6, 2003 was given to him after his NYSC duty was complete.

The date for Justice Ekwo's hearing with all other parties to the lawsuit is May 22, in the meanwhile.
