A Final-year BIU Student Dies Of Medical Negligence

A final-year BIU student apparently dies as a result of medical negligence one month before graduation

Benson Idahosa University, Benin, Edo State student Bruno Chigozie, who was enrolled in computer science at the 400-level, has passed away.

He reportedly passed away on May 22, 2023, a Monday. According to a source, Bruno passed out yesterday during the school's Uniform Day program. He was brought to the school's medical facility, but there were no tools or equipment available to treat him. He was left in the ambulance for more than two hours by the medical staff.

In order to save Bruno's life, some students offered to drive him to a general hospital, but the security guards at the campus gate would not let them pass and instead advised them to go get a permit. The students' repeated cries went unheard until Bruno passed out in the ambulance.

She went into a stupor when she heard the news because Bruno was her only son and was due to graduate next month. Due to the unfortunate event, kids have started a demonstration inside the school to demand answers. This is not the first instance of a student passing away as a result of carelessness. In the school, it happens every year. I pray for the tranquility of Bruno's soul.
