UCL: LAMPARD DISCLOSES WHAT HE TOLD CHELSEA PLAYERS FOLLOWING THEIR 2-0 LOSS TO REAL MADRID

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has urged his players that they must believe they can pull off a great comeback against Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final match at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues were defeated 2-0 in the first leg at the Bernabeu on Wednesday and will need to overcome the deficit next week.

As Chelsea's Ben Chilwell was issued a red card, Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio scored for the championship holders, who look unstoppable this season.

"I've just said to the players, special things can happen at Stamford Bridge," the former Chelsea midfielder told BT Sport.

He acknowledged that Real Madrid had some of the best players in the world, but he believed that anything might happen in the second leg at Stamford Bridge.

Lampard stated that the players must first comprehend that this is a task they can complete.

We have to go up a level, for sure we do, and that's what we have to understand," the Englishman added.
