EPL: KOMPANY REACTS TO HIS POSSIBLE APPOINTMENT AS CHELSEA MANAGER

Vincent Kompany

"That's all I worry about..."

Manchester City legend and Burnley manager Vincent Kompany has replied to reports that he is Chelsea's preferred candidate for a permanent position at Stamford Bridge.

According to reports in England earlier this week, Kompany, 37, is currently in the hunt for the manager's job at Stamford Bridge after leading Burnley to the Premier League title.

The Blues are reportedly considering signing Tottenham ex-boss Mauricio Pochettino, but their interest in Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique has cooled.

Todd Boehly and company are anticipated to name their new permanent manager before the season's end.

Burnley are yet to win the championship after picking up just two points in their last three games and falling to relegation-threatened QPR on Saturday.

When asked about the speculation linking Kompany to Chelsea after their defeat on Saturday, the former Belgium international replied, "I've said I'm not engaging in any of these conversations.

"I have too much at this moment in time in my head in terms of wanting to win football matches. That's the only thing I care about."
