OSIMHEN'S ABSENCE VS AC MILAN - NAPOLI CAPTAIN, DI LORENZO
Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Napoli captain, believes the Partenopei can live without their talismanic attacker Victor Osimhen against AC Milan.
On Wednesday, Luciano Spalletti's players head to the San Siro for the opening leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final showdown (today).
The game will be played without Osimhen, the Serie A leader's leading scorer.
The 24-year-old is currently out with a muscular ailment sustained while on international duty with Nigeria late last month.
Napoli were thrashed 4-0 by AC Milan in a league match last month, despite the absence of Osimhen.
There are concerns that the Parthenopeans would face a similar fate this time, but Di Lorenzo has emphasized that his absence will not have an impact on the team.
"We know that Osimhen is a great player and he is very important for us, but we don't depend only on one player. We have and have full confidence in the available players," Di Lorenzo was quoted by Tutto Napoli.
"So we are calm from this point of view. I repeat, Osimhen is important for us, but he won't be there in this match, and therefore, we will face them with the players we have."
Osimhen has four goals in five appearances for Napoli in the Champions League this season.
