1. Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri maintained his lead in the governorship election on Sunday morning, following the collation of 10 of the 20 local government areas where supplementary elections were held on Saturday.
2. In the ongoing supplementary election in Kebbi State, Dr Nasiru Idris of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Aminu Bande of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are running neck and neck. As of early Sunday morning, the results of five of the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAS) where the election was held had been declared.
3. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested at least 12 people in connection with alleged vote buying during Saturday's supplementary polls in Kano and Katsina states. Faruk Dogondaji, the Commission's Kano Zonal Commander, informed NAN that the suspects were apprehended with N1.5 million cash in both Kano and Katsina states.
4. On Saturday, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila. The visit comes at a time when the Rivers All Progressives Congress (APC) is at odds with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which Wike represents.
5. Violence marred the supplementary elections held in some states yesterday, with four people killed in Kano and Kebbi states, as well as pockets of violence and low voter turnout in other states. Apart from the fatalities in the two states, it was stated that the exercise in Edo, Ekiti, Adamawa, Rivers, and Anambra states was marred by voter apathy and vote-buying.
6. The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, has ordered the immediate removal of SP Emmanuel Edebagha, Divisional Police Officer of Okokomaiko. According to the command's spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, Edebagha was fired for failing to oversee his men who were accused of extorting N100,000 from a vendor in the Alaba International Market.
7. The Lagos State Police Command seized a gun and six cartridges from fleeing suspects in the state's Egbe area. SP Benjamin Hundeyin, a police spokesman, said in Lagos on Saturday that the items were discovered by officers on patrol in the region. He claimed that when the suspects saw the police patrol team, they dropped a polyethene bag and ran.
8. Timipre Sylva, former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, was named the All Progressives Congress candidate for Bayelsa State governor on Saturday.
Sylva received 52,061 votes in the party's primary election on Friday and Saturday, defeating five other candidates for the governorship ticket.

Peoples Democratic Party chieftains loyal to the party's suspended National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, have vowed to oppose any attempt by the five disgruntled governors to force him out of office. According to rumors, the G-5 Governors are pulling strings to ensure that beleaguered Ayu does not return as chairman.
