MY HUSBAND WANTS TO KILL ME AND POUR ACID ON ME - WOMAN CLAIMS IN COURT
A Grade 'A' Customary Court in Ibadan has dissolved Susan Udeze's 13-year marriage to her estranged husband, Frank, on the grounds of an alleged threat to life.
Mrs. S.M. Akintayo, the court's President, stated in her verdict that she dissolved the marriage in the interest of peace and order.
Akintayo granted Udeze custody of the two children and ordered Frank to pay N15,000 per month as a feeding allowance.
She assigned Udeze and Frank joint responsibility for the children's schooling, medical care, and other needs.
The court's president also issued an injunction prohibiting Frank from harassing, intimidating, or interfering with Udeze's private life.
She told Udeze not to deny Frank access to the kids.
Udeze told the court in January 2022 that her husband may "sniff life out of her if she continued to live under the same roof with him."
"Frank labelled me a witch and sent me out of the house at night after beating the hell out of me.
"He showed no form of consolation when my mother died. He does not provide for our three children.
"I became more scared of Frank when he threatened to pour acid on me. I reported the incident at the police station and ran away from his house," NAN quoted her as saying.
However, the defendant was not present in court when he was summoned to begin his defense.
