LIONEL MESSI IS LIKELY TO PLAY WITH NEWELL'S OLD BOYS

This summer, PSG superstar Lionel Messi will play for his boyhood club, Newell's Old Boys.

Messi and former Argentina teammate Sergio Aguero were invited to appear in former Liverpool winger Maxi Rodriguez's testimonial game on June 24.

Rodriguez retired from football in 2021 following his third stint with Newell's Old Boys.

However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he was unable to schedule his farewell match at that time, and it will now take place in June.

The game will be played between Newell XI and Argentina XI.

Juan Pablo Sorin, Marcelo Bielsa, Javier Zanetti, Lionel Scaloni, and Gabriel Heinze will also be present.

Gerardo Tata Martino and Jose Pekerman will be in charge of the two clubs.

Messi's possible involvement would increase the game's excitement level.
