JESUS DISCLOSES THE PERSON Who PERSUADED HIM TO JOIN ARSENAL
Gabriel Jesus, a forward for Arsenal, has discussed how he was persuaded to leave Manchester City and sign with the club last summer.
Jesus claimed he had severe second thoughts about switching to Arsenal from the Premier League champions.
Despite interest from Real Madrid and Chelsea, the striker transferred to the Emirates in the summer of 2022 for £45 million from the Etihad.
Following a knee injury that kept him out of play for three months of the season, Jesus recently made a comeback.
After placing sixth the previous season, few people dared predict that the Gunners would contend for the title this year.
The Brazilian claimed that Mikel Arteta, the manager, and Edu, the director of football at Arsenal, persuaded him to sign.
"I had a very good and important chat with Edu," said Jesus, according to Metro.
"I was in doubt [about signing]. But, after I talked to him (Edu) and Mikel (Arteta), the job was done."
