EPL: I MADE MISTAKES AT CHELSEA - BOEHLY MAKES AN OPEN ADMISSION

Todd Boehly, co-owner of Chelsea, has admitted to making "mistakes" during his first year with the Premier League team.

After Roman Abramovich's 19-year rule ended, the American billionaire took over.

Boehly then went on an enormous buying spree to bring in new players and fired two managers.

The businessman's first full season in English football will end without a trophy, as the squad is unable to clinch European football for next season.

With his ambitious investment, Boehly sparked hope at Stamford Bridge, which has since given way to dissatisfaction among supporters.

Tempers flared after last weekend's 2-1 home loss to Brighton, when he was challenged by several furious fans in the stands.

According to Bloomberg, Boehly said he had made mistakes while speaking to Goldman Sachs Group Inc and investment banker Anthony Gutman at a private event at Stamford Bridge on Thursday, where he outlined his long-term strategy for the club.
