EPL/SERIA A: CHELSEA MIGHT UTILIZE A WANTAWAY PLAYER IN A DEAL TO SIGN OSIMHEN AHEAD OF MANCHESTER UNITED
Victor Osimhen
Chelsea might use one of its surplus players to outbid Manchester United for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
Chelsea and Manchester United appear to be competing to sign Osimhen from Napoli during the summer transfer window.
Osimhen has had a fantastic season for Napoli, scoring 26 goals in 31 games to help Luciano Spalletti's team go 14 points clear at the top of the Seria A table.
Chelsea, on the other hand, feel Osimhen can help them fix their goal-scoring woes after relying on Kai Havertz for much of the season following striker Romelu Lukaku's return to Italy last summer.
On deadline day, the Blues recruited former Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but his time at Stamford Bridge has been a disaster, with both sides willing to part ways at the conclusion of the season.
According to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea may have an advantage over Manchester United because Napoli are interested in buying Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech, who may be utilized in a trade including Osimhen.
