EPL: LEICESTER MANAGER BELIEVES NDIDI WILL RECOVER FROM HIS DISAPPOINTING PERFORMANCE AGAINST MANCHESTER CITY
Following criticism of the midfielder's performance against Manchester City last weekend, Leicester City boss Dean Smith feels Wilfred Ndidi has a lot to offer his team.
Pep Guardiola's team triumphed 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium.
Ndidi gave up a penalty for Manchester City's second goal and then lost the ball in midfield to Kevin de Bruyne for the third.
The Nigerian, who came in in the second half, was chastised by Leicester City fans after the game.
Smith stated that Ndidi is still an important player for the Foxes.
"But I like Wilf, I think he's a really good player. He's one that protects, and people sometimes miss the fact he defends our box really well aerially and physically. He can be a threat in the opposition box as well. There are many aspects to his game that can help us," the former Aston Villa manager was quoted by Leicester mercury.
