BIAFRA IS NOT DEAD; IT WILL BE RESTORED SOON, ACCORDING TO THE IPOB'S RESPONSE TO OBASANJO

The Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, has stated that Biafra would be restored soon because the struggle is not over.

IPOB was responding to former President Olusegun Obasanjo's comment that Biafra was dead and buried on January 13, 1970.

Emma Powerful, the group's spokesman, stated that no amount of coercion or misinformation could prevent the return of Biafra.

In light of Obasanjo's admission that "Igbophobia" exists in Nigeria, IPOB asked whatever ethnic group has been subjugated, maltreated, deprived, discriminated against, profiled, vilified, militarized, and their youths slain like the Igbos.

A statement by Powerful reads: "The Indigenous People of Biafra under Nnamdi Kanu wish to remind the former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, that Biafra is not dead and was never buried but much alive and eventually the Sun shall rise to never set again.

"Obasanjo, as a special guest at Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo's one-year celebration in office at the event in Awka, Anambra State, erroneously said he believed that Biafra died and was buried on 13th January 1970 during his comment at that occasion.

"We want Obasanjo to know that Biafra is not dead and definitely not buried. No amount of propaganda and blackmail against the IPOB movement will make us change our resolve to restore Biafra. We either restore Biafra or we die restoring Biafra."
