ATIKU CONGRATULATES IWUANYANWU ON HIS ELECTION AS PRESIDENT-GENERAL OF OHANAEZE

Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party's presidential candidate, has congratulated elder statesman Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu on his election as President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.

According to MON DIARIES, Iwuanyanwu took over for the late Prof. George Obiozor.

On Wednesday, an Imo Elders Council delegation led by Chairman HRM Eze (Dr.) Cletus Ilomuanya presented Iwuanyanwu to Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma at the Government House in Owerri.

In response, Atiku declared on Twitter that Iwuanyanwu is "eminently positioned and qualified" to lead the Ndigbo leadership.

"I urge him to use his good office to strengthen national integration and Igbo unity in a manner that has not been seen since after the Nigerian civil war.

"I am optimistic that Chief Iwuanyanwu will make the desired impact, considering his political grit and sagacity, and as one whose aura and influence reverberates across the length and breadth of Nigeria."
