AFCON - UNDER 17: GOLDEN EAGLETS LEAVES FOR ALGERIA TODAY

The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria will depart for Algeria on Sunday (today) ahead of the 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.

The Golden Eaglets were supposed to train in Germany for the competition, but that plan was scrapped due to logistical issues and a lack of financing.

Nduka Ugbade, the competition's head coach, has already picked 23 players.

For the competition, the two-time champions will be headquartered in Constantine.

The Nigerian boys will play all of their group games at Constantine's Hamlaoui Stadium.

The Eaglets are in Group B, which also includes Zambia, Morocco, and South Africa.
