A MAN SETTLING A QUARREL WAS STABBED TO DEATH IN KOGI

On Friday, a 39-year-old man named Sunday Orishagbemi was stabbed while attempting to resolve an argument between two men about urinating in Zango Daji Quarters in Kogi State's Adavi Local Government Area.

The tragedy, which was confirmed by Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Ayah, began on Friday evening when a friend of the deceased, described as a vulcanizer at Ganaja junction, Lokoja, branched to urinate close to a building owned by one of the quarters' residents.

According to an eyewitness, the owner of the building objected to the activity and a fight ensued.

Concerned about the situation, the deceased arrived to mediate the dispute between his friend and the youngster.

During the process, the son of the house's owner was reported to have pulled out a knife and stabbed Orishagbemi to death.

In an interview with journalists in Lokoja on Saturday, Ayah corroborated the tale, saying the deceased was killed at Okada Park in Zango Daji, and that the suspect had been apprehended for inquiry.

He assured that the suspect would be charged as soon as the investigation in the case was completed.
