1. Former Nasarawa State deputy governor Prof Onje Gye-Wado, who was kidnapped on Thursday night, has been freed after paying a ransom of N4 million. The law professor was abducted from his rural residence in Rinza, close to Wamba, the state capital and seat of the Wamba Local Government Area.
2. Festus Keyamo, a representative for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, called Peter Obi's Labour Party backers "mentally weak." Obi's followers, referred to as "Obidients," have been trending for contentious reasons during the past week.
3. Prince Bola Ajibola, a former judge of the International Court of Justice, Hague, Netherlands, was laid to rest in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Ajibola, who was also the first president of Crescent University in Abeokuta and a former attorney general of Nigeria, passed away at the age of 89.
4. Apple marketers in Kano State have expressed concern over what they have referred to as the importation of bad apples into the country by some accredited importers. They claim that if the situation is not controlled, it will spell disaster for innocent people as well as businesses nationwide.
5. The Saint Francis Catholic Church, Owo, in Ondo State, was reopened yesterday for religious activities, one year after it was allegedly attacked by armed bandits. With a sizable crowd of worshipers present to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the church was reopened for Easter.
6. The Prophet Tomi Arayomi, the founder of RIG Nation, has announced the exile of his family until a "better Nigeria." The Department of State Services detained Arayomi, his wife Tahmar, and their aide, Emmanuel Ezerika, on Friday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja. Arayomi and Tahmar are both British citizens.
7. A fatal crash that happened in Enugu State on Saturday claimed the lives of at least 15 people. The Federal Road Safety Corps' Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, stated on Sunday that the accident's causes were excessive speed and route infraction.
8. The All Progressives Congress has asked the Presidential Election Petitions Court in Abuja to reject petitions submitted by three opposition parties contesting the election victory of Sen. Bola Tinubu, an APC presidential candidate, on February 25. In three distinct responses submitted at PEPC's Secretariat on Sunday night by Thomas Ojo, a member of the APC's legal team in Abuja under the direction of Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, the party urged the tribunal to reject the petitions.
10. A man going by the name Bendega is accused of taking pictures and videos of himself and his female lovers having sex against their will using a camera, laptop, and mobile device. It was learned that Bendega sold his lovers' nude footage and photos after committing the crime.
9. The Most Reverend Mathew Kukah, a Catholic bishop of the Sokoto Diocese, gave the 2023 general election a low rating yesterday, saying it fell short of the expectations of a sizable portion of Nigeria's population of over 200 million.
