1. Similanayi Fubara, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, has been declared the winner of the Rivers State governorship election. The Returning Officer announced the results in Port Harcourt on Monday night, saying Fubara received 302,614 votes, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Pastor Tonye Cole, received 95,274 votes.
2. All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Uba Sani has been declared the winner of the Kaduna governorship election. Sani received 730,002 votes, according to the State Collation Officer, Prof. Lawal Suleiman Bilbis, while Hon. Mohammed Isa Ashiru of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received 719,196 votes.
3. The Adamawa State governorship election was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday. 7. Katsina State's Peoples Democratic Party has rejected the results of the state's governorship election held on Saturday. Dr Mustapha Inuwa, Director General of the PDP Campaign Council in the state, stated the party's position at a news conference in Katsina on Monday.
8. The European Union has chastised the Independent National Electoral Commission for failing to meet expectations in Nigeria's electoral process. In a statement on Monday, the Chief Observer, EU Election Observation Mission, Barry Andrews, said Nigerians hungered for democracy and were ready to participate in the country's democracy, but the appetite was lost owing to failings by the political elites and the INEC.
