POTTER PRAISES TWO CHELSEA PLAYERS FOLLOWING THE MOST RECENT VICTORY

Following his team's 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 semifinals, Chelsea manager Graham Potter singled out Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz for special commendation.

The Englishman saw Chelsea defeat Dortmund 2-1 overall after losing 1-0 in the first leg last month in Germany thanks to goals from Sterling and Havertz.

During the game, Potter noted in his post-game press conference that Havertz and Sterling both played exceptionally well for the Blues against Dortmund.

Potter said, "I thought Raheem alongside Kai was excellent and I was really pleased for him too.

"He played a slightly different role, but I thought he was really effective, and he caused their backline a lot of problems."

He added, "Raheem's a goalscorer and has plenty of experience in this competition, so we just felt that if we could get him and Kai into those attacking areas, then we could have some joy in front of goal and thankfully, those two both scored.

"Overall, it was a great team performance, and we're through to the quarter-finals, which is the next step for us."
