"FREE US FROM TYRANNY" - BUCKNOR-AKERELE TELLS THE LABOUR PARTY AND OBIDIENTS

Kofo Bucknor-Akerele, a former deputy governor of Lagos State, has urged the Labour Party (LP) supporter's also referred to as "Obidients," to end the "tyranny" that has ruled the state for more than 20 years.

At a news conference where she supported Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the LP governorship candidate, Bucknor-Akerele made the appeal on Wednesday.

Remember that from 1999 to 2003, Bucknor-Akerele served as Bola Tinubu's deputy. Tinubu was the former governor of Lagos.

She praised the young people for turning up in large numbers to vote in the Presidential National Assembly elections held last month, saying that the state's journey toward freedom has just begun.

"Please come out in your millions. We registered over seven million votes in Lagos State. What happened? We know the figure that they wrote for us is not the correct figure but I beg you all, all of you who have voter cards, come out and free us from the tyranny that we have been undergoing for the last 20 years and more."

She emphasized that Lagos has, "enough of rule by touts, urging the Obidients not to be intimidated by political thugs who might want to harm them."
