PETER OBI WISHES TO SERVE TINUBU IBB'S MKO ABIOLA TREATMENT

Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Bayo Onanuga, a media aide to President-elect Bola Tinubu, has accused Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, of attempting to treat his principal in the same way that retired military dictator Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB) treated MKO Abiola, whose presidential election victory was annulled 30 years ago.

Onanuga argued that Obi's decision to contest the 2023 presidential election results is comparable to how IBB nullified MKO Abiola's 1993 election.

On Tuesday evening, he tweeted: "Peter Obi of Labour Party seeks the annulment of the election of President-elect Bola Tinubu just like the military annulled MKO Abiola's election of 12 June 1993."

Onanuga, on the other hand, stated unequivocally that Tinubu and his allies are prepared to defend his election victory, adding that, "Team Tinubu will certainly meet you (Obi) in court."

Obi had earlier filed a case at the Abuja courtroom on Tuesday.

Obi and the Labour Party, LP, are contesting Tinubu's election as the victor of the presidential election on February 25, 2023.

They are asking the tribunal to rule that Tinubu was not legitimately elected by a majority of the votes cast during the election. They want an order ordering that INEC retrieve Tinubu's certificate of return and provide a new one to Obi.
