NIGERIA ELECTIONS: NYSC DEMANDS THAT CORPS MEMBERS' SAFETY

The Administration of National Youth Service Corps has complimented corps members for their exceptional performances during the just concluded 2023 Presidential and National Assembly elections.

In a meeting with all the NYSC State Coordinators on Tuesday, the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, made this statement in anticipation of the upcoming governorship and state house of assembly elections.

According to him, corps members who worked as ad hoc staff during the presidential and national assembly elections have left a lasting legacy as effective ambassadors for the program.

In order for the plan to succeed, according to Ahmed, all stakeholders must come together, particularly with the current general elections taking place.

General Ahmed continued by pleading with the public to create circumstances that will allow the corps members to carry out their election-related tasks, particularly as the gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections approach.

The Director General ordered all state coordinators to maintain ongoing communication with the appropriate security authorities in order to guarantee the welfare and safety of their corps members while they are on election duty.

In his words; "I urge you to be committed to the general well-being of your staff and corps members. I also encourage you to uphold teamwork and lead with good examples in your respective state Secretariats."
