Debo Adebayo, also known as Mr. Macaroni, is a well-known Nigerian social critic and skit creator. He has cautioned Lagos residents to be wary of those fanning the flames of tribal animosity ahead of the Saturday gubernatorial election.
Mr. Macaroni lamented the fact that some individuals were disseminating materials that incited hatred of tribes.
He made this claim in a post on his verified Twitter account.
He argued that people shouldn't permit individuals acting in their own self-interest to sow discord among Nigerians.
"It's sad to see people sharing inciting contents against tribes. We have been living together in unity. Doing business together and marrying ourselves.
"Do not let people, because of their own interests, cause hate among us.
"Let's say No To Tribal Warfare!
"Let us Preach Peace," he tweeted.
