THERE'S NO RIFT BETWEEN SUPER EAGLES COACH AND NFF - FOOTBALL FEDERATION

Jose Peseiro

There is no dissension between Super Eagles coach Peseiro and the Football Federation

Reports of a disagreement between the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro have been refuted by the NFF's secretary general, Mohammed Sanusi.

According to sources, Peseiro is prepared to quit his position as a result of the NFF's breach of their contractual commitments.

Six months' worth of wages are owing to the 62-year-old who was hired by the NFF in May.

This week, it was widely reported in various media outlets that the NFF would appoint an interim coaching staff to work with the Super Eagles in the event that the Portuguese decided to part ways with the team.

Currently, Sanusi has denied the rumors and emphasized that Peseiro will continue to coach the Super Eagles.

"Most of these speculations and innuendoes are simply ridiculous because we have no problem whatsoever with Mr. Peseiro. He is doing his job as head Coach of the Super Eagles and, contrary to some of the more fictitious claims, he has not reported the NFF to FIFA with regards to his wages, "Sanusi told thenff.com.

"I want to appeal to the media to make efforts to get their facts right before going to press. There is no need to speculate and engage in half-truths and outright falsehood in these matters.

"Some of these speculations and innuendoes create disharmony and disenchantment in key quarters. The NFF and the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development are working on Mr. Peseiro's wages and these will be settled shortly."
