EDEOGA IS NO LONGER THE LP CANDIDATE FOR GOVERNOR OF ENUGU PER THE COURT

Chijioke Edeoga has been disqualified from running for governor of Enugu State on behalf of the Labour Party by an Abuja Federal High Court.

Recall that Odengene, also known as Evarest Nnaji, had petitioned the Abuja court to contest the results of the party's primary in May that had chosen Chijioke as its nominee.

A new primary election must be held by the party within 14 days, according to Justice Evelyn Maha, who invalidated the primary election.

The two formerly belonged to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but they switched parties earlier this year in order to compete for the LP ticket in the upcoming governorship elections.
