Nigerian troops raid a bandit's hideout in Kaduna, rescuing three people and recovering weapons

The Kaduna State Government confirmed the rescue of three people and the recovery of arms and ammunition by troops from Operation Forest Sanity on Wednesday.

According to Mr. Samuel Aruwan, Kaduna Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, in a statement issued on Wednesday, the troops raided bandits' dens near the Chikun-Birnin Gwari boundary and made contact with bandits who retreated with gunshot wounds.

"Troops of Operation Forest Sanity carried out a raid on a bandits' hideout, in furtherance of clearance operations in the Kuriga-Manini-Udawa general areas, along the Chikun-Birnin Gwari boundary." He stated.

According to him, the troops acted on credible intelligence and conducted search-and-rescue operations at the hideout near Ungwan Malam Ali, where they returned fire for fire, but the bandits bowed and some escaped with bullet wounds.

"On raiding the camp, the troops rescued three kidnapped persons, identified as, Luka Ibrahim, Yusuf Jibril, Saminu Abdullahi," the statement said.

The troops recovered one AK47 rifle, eighteen rounds of ammunition, and eleven pump action cartridges, according to Aruwan.

He stated that the Kaduna State Government was pleased with the operational feedback and congratulated the troops on another successful round of operations in the area, adding that the rescued citizens had been returned to their communities.
