MC-OLUOMO IMPLEMENTED A BAR CODE TO PREVENT KIDNAPPINGS IN LAGOS GARAGES
Alh. Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly known as mc-Oluomo, the chairman of Lagos State Park and Garages Management, has introduced bar codes to all commercial vehicles operating in Lagos in order to protect the lives and goods of Lagosians and to reduce insecurity.
While unveiling the bar code, Oluomo stated that the Lagos transport management will not jeopardize the lives of Lagosians, noting that kidnapping is common in some parts of the country, and that it is the proactiveness of stakeholders in the Lagos transport sector that has resulted in the introduction of the bar code.
Mc-Oluomo went on to say that the chairmen of each Park and Garage whose drivers are caught endangering the lives and properties of Lagosians will face severe punishment.
Mr Isaiah Arowolo of Dotmatech Technology Ltd revealed that over 20,000 vehicles are already in the organization's data while explaining how the bar code works. He stated that each vehicle will have a unique bar code that passengers must scan before boarding the bus. After scanning, it will display the vehicle's license plate number, information about the driver and the unit from which the vehicle is operating, as well as the name of the unit chairman.
He also stated that this information will deter kidnapping and theft. Furthermore, anyone who forgets his luggage on the bus can easily contact or track him down using the information provided. He stated that people can get the app from Google Play or Apple IOS.
