COURT RULING AGAINST NNAMDI KANU'S RENDITION - CUPP

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu

The legal team lead by Barrister Aloy Ejimakor and praised by the opposing political parties for handling the matter with professionalism, skill, and diligence.

Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, the CUPP's spokesperson, issued the following statement: "the well-considered judgment is positive proof that, despite the systemic dysfunctions inherent in our polity, there is hope that the judiciary remains capable of doing manifest justice to right any wrong whether done by the government or individuals."

Further urging the Federal Government to swiftly carry out the ruling, CUPP said that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu-related judgments earlier handed down by the High Court of Abia State and the Court of Appeal as well as more recent ones made by the UN are all unquestionably validated by it.

According to Ugochinyere, this decision, along with many that came before it, should inspire the federal government to recognize that the right to self-determination is a political issue that calls for a political solution rather than zealous law enforcement.

"We therefore strongly urge the federal government to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu without further ado," CUPP included.
