TWO MARRIED MEN WERE ARRESTED IN LAGOS FOR DEFRAUDING AND RAPING A 23-YEAR-OLD GIRL

Police in Lagos State have arrested two suspected members of a freud syndicate for allegedly defrauding a 23-year-old woman in the state's Ipaja area.

Rotimi Fisher, 42, and Sherif Adebayo, 32, allegedly lured the victim to an unfinished building on Majiyagbe Street in Ipaja, where Adebayo allegedly raped her.

According to reports, the suspects, who are both married with two children each, were arraigned at the Ejigbo Magistrate's Court on three counts of obtaining by false pretences, fraudulent conversion, and sexual assault, all of which are punishable under sections 411, 314 (1), 287, and 136 of the Lagos State Criminal Law of 2015.

The defendants were charged in court and then remanded in custody after it was revealed that they had engaged the lady in sex after defrauding her of valuables such as her gold earrings worth N70,000 and a cash sum of N198,000.
