THE NATIONAL GRID GOES DOWN FOR THE SEVENTH TIME IN 2022, RESULTING IN A BLACKOUT
On Monday, September 26, some parts of Nigeria were plunged into darkness due to the failure of the national power grid.
The latest incident brings the total number of grid failures this year to six.
According to various customer notices from major electricity distribution companies (Discos), the national grid collapsed around 11 a.m.
According to Emeka Ezeh, head of corporate communications at Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC), the system failure resulted in a loss of supply across the country.
"The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) wishes to inform her esteemed customers of a system collapse which occurred at 10:51 am today, 26th September 2022. This has resulted in the loss of supply currently being experienced across the network.
Due to this development, all our interface TCN stations are out of supply, and we are unable to provide service to our customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi. Enugu and Imo States.
"We are on standby awaiting detailed information of the collapse and restoration of supply from the National Control Centre (NCC), Osogbo," he said.
